Skills & Passion

XHTML + CSS

Extensive knowledge of XHTML and strong uderstanding of CSS. Great focus on accessibility, usability, information architecture and web standards. Putting emphasis on cross browser compatibility. Advanced in using Dreamweaver, but able to hand-code as well.

Wide experience in building templates for CMS's (TYPO3 and Webfirm CMS). Also experienced building zoom layouts, style switching websites, CSS dropdowns and many others. Experimenting with building joint structures of HTML and Flash.

Flash

Good knowledge of Actionscript 1.0. Learning and experimenting with Actionscript 2.0. Experienced in animation methods and filters. Experimenting with blend modes and new video features (Flash 8). Experimenting with building joint structures of HTML and Flash.

JavaSript, XML

I am knowledgeable and have basic experience using JavaScript, especially as a tool for extra functions and effects on the web. However, I use JavaScript only in special cases where no other solution is available, leaving plenty of room for CSS and similar cleaner and more accessible ways of building websites.

I have also some experience with XML, particularly as a data exchange format for Flash driven projects.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

I believe that Search Engine Optimisation is crucial for any web-based project. I have achieved good results in SEO, getting into top 10 and even first positions in Google, Yahoo and MSN even for competitive keywords. I have good understanding and wide experience of both methods and tools for successful SEO. I am a member of SearchEngineForums and regular visitor and user of SeoChat and several other SEO websites and groups.

WAP, WML, Symbian, Flash Lite

In the last year, I realised the potential of mobile phones and its convergence with Internet and desktop computers. Therefore, I started focusing on mobile technologies, such as WAP, WML, Symbian (Series 60 in particular), Flash Lite and Nokia Series 60 Themes. Since I am advanced in Flash and ActionScript, it is easy for me to move into Flash Lite development. I also plan to learn Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) in very close future as this would further enhance my design and development opportunities. I am also a registered member of Nokia Developer Forum.

TYPO3 CMS

TYPO3 is an Open Source content management system for enterprise purposes on the web and in intranets. Since 2003 I have built over 30 websites based on TYPO3.

Typography and Colour theories

I believe that good-looking graphic design is achievable by following elementary design principles such as typography, grid systems and colour theories. A successful website should also follow the brand identity instead of inventing a new one. Therefore, understanding of such design rules is crucial for a web designer.
